HARTFORD — On March 21st, ASM Paramedic Supervisor Vinnie Maston presented to the Greater Hartford Chapter of “Mended Hearts”. The chapter requested an speaker from the EMS community to present examples of the cutting edge technology presently in use in the field.

According to their website, Mended Hearts is a national and community-based non-profit organization that has been “offering the gift of hope to heart disease patients, their families and caregivers.” Continue reading

John was a Hartford Police Officer killed in a motor vehicle accident on January 27, 2012. Prior to serving as a police officer he had worked as an EMT for the Ambulance Service of Manchester.

HARTFORD — On Monday, December 6th, as part of Operation Walk USA, several patients from the Hartford area will receive free orthopedic services from Saint Francis Hospital’s Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute.

Operation Walk, Saint Francis Hospital, the Connecticut Joint Institute and Aetna Ambulance Team Up

Frequently these patients are indigent and uninsured. In support of this worthwhile program, Aetna Ambulance Service will provide one of these patients, who cannot be transported safely by other means, with free ambulance transportation to Mt Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital for rehabilitation services. Emergency of Hunger Food Drive Yields Fantastic Results

MANCHESTER  – When the dust settled on the friendly but competitive “Emergency of Hunger Food Drive,” Team Manchester won in the food count, Team Vernon won in cash, checks and gift cards and Team South Windsor won in turkeys.

In total, the three teams collected:

  • 27,000 food items
  • 742 turkeys, and
  • Over $33,000 in cash, checks and gift cards.
