n 2015 I was hired at ASM as an EMT. This allowed me to practice my skills and transition into the role of a paramedic student at Capital Community College. After my graduation from the paramedic program I was able to begin precepting. I enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside Josh, Tim, Dave, and Matt over the course of several weeks to gain practice in the field and work towards independent dispatch. Their wealth of knowledge and consistent encouragement, paired with a variety of calls, allowed me to push myself, grow and learn. Their support, as well as my coworkers, has now allowed me to confidently start my work as an independent paramedic.

Thank You- You Saved My Son’s Life

SOUTH WINDSOR — In mid April, 2017 ASM received another heartfelt Thank You card directed to ASM Paramedics Matt Tuttle and Rob Bilodeau and EMTs Bekka Fross and Jeff Hornish. The card reads:

I wanted to thank the ASM team that came to our house and saved my son’s life. You can’t imagine how much that means to my son and our whole family. You are the best! Your expertise and speed to save him was outstanding. Thank you again and again.

 

Kudos from the Cath Lab: Volume 12

Aetna Paramedic receives Kudos from the Cath LabHARTFORD — During April 2015, ASM Paramedic Supervisor Matt Tuttle and his EMT partner, Supervisor Mike Sparks, responded to a medical call in South Windsor. The EKG was indicative of a STEMI and Matt wirelessly transmitted the 12-lead EKG to Saint Francis Hospital, activating their cardiac catherization lab from the field. (#15-24713).

Additionally the patient returned a Satisfaction Survey with every one of the 21 boxes checked Strongly Agree or Excellent. In a follow-up phone call he said that Matt should be commended, that he was “absolutely fantastic”, caring and took the time to explain everything as it was happening. Further, he said, “I have nothing but good things to say about your service.”

Vessel Angiography Findings/Treatment:  100% thrombotic occlusion of Distal RCA; hypotensive, required Dopamine, ejection fraction 55%.

Comments: onset 20 min PTA dispatched 0822; EKG transmitted on scene to ED & med control contacted prior to departure; left scene @ 0840 (South Windsor location)- in ED pt remained on EMS stretcher then to cath lab.

ASM’s Matt Tuttle Promoted to Supervisor

Matt TuttleMANCHESTER — On March 23, 2015 ASM’s Matt Tuttle was promoted to the position of Supervisor.

Matt started at ASM as an EMT-Basic in 2006. He graduated from the Capital Community College Paramedic Program and was cleared for independent dispatch in June of 2014.  

On behalf of the ASM Family we would like to congratulate Matt on his promotion and look forward to great things from and for him. We are very proud to have such skilled professionals on staff.

Cleared for Independent Dispatch: ASM’s Matt Tuttle Completes Precepting Phase

Matt TuttleMANCHESTER –As of June 27, 2014, ASM’s Matt Tuttle has been cleared by Eastern Connecticut Health Network medical control for independent dispatch as a paramedic to the towns that ASM serves.

Matt’s preceptors were  Paramedics Sue Allen and Don Hart. The full precepting phase can take ten to 12 weeks or more as the paramedic is prepped for the realities of the field. As with all precepting phases at ASM, Matt’s final approval came from Eastern Connecticut Health Network after shadowing Matt and his preceptor in the field as they responded to emergency calls.

Matt started at ASM as an EMT-Basic in 2006 and graduated from the Capital Community College Paramedic Program. 

On behalf of the ASM Family, we would like to wish Matt the best of luck and say we are very proud to have such skilled professionals on staff.

MANCHESTER — ASM EMT Sean Norton writes, “You may have seen several ASM employees with oddly shaped facial hair at work lately. This is not only because it looks great but we are doing it to change the face of men’s health. Movember was started to raise money for the research of testicular and prostate cancer as well as mental health.

ASM at Downtown Manchester’s ‘Halloween Happenings’

Halloween Happenings - Ambulance Service of Manchester, LLC.MANCHESTER — On October 26, 2013 Ambulance Service of Manchester Paramedic Rory Leslie and EMT Matt Tuttle set up an “Amb-boo-lance” near Pinewood Furniture as part of Downtown Manchester’s Halloween Happenings.

Matt and Rory gave out treats to the trick-or-treaters making their way to each store and business taking part in the event on Main Street.

It was estimated that around 1000 children took part.
